Weekly WoW Roundup #1

I know, I know… I’ve been neglecting this site the past couple of weeks. Holidays, busy season at work… all excuses, yes, but they are all legitimate factors. I promise to get more good content out there for you all… and starting with this – the “Weekly Roundup.” I thought I might start posting interesting tidbits from other sites and some commentary every week. This week will have some older content as well, but moving forward, I plan to just have articles and content that appeared in the most recent week. But I may add more. Who knows, its my site and I can do what I want.

So without further ado…

Rogue tidbits:

Nimble Fingers: A Guide to Acquiring Fangs of the Father – Yes, this post is a few weeks old, but I do still get many questions on it and search hits from people seeking more info on the subject. Perculia wrote a great article on the legendary daggers questline, broken down by the different stages to show how to get Fear and Vengeance, The Sleeper and The Dreamer, and finally Golad, Twilight of Aspects and Tiriosh, Nightmare of Ages.

A Clarification on the Legendary Quest – Squelchy posted a blurb about how the Elementium Gem Clusters we gather from boss kills and break into Shadowy Gems for the Phase 2 part of the questline are the same clusters we need for the third phase as well. I thought that to be pretty obvious, but then I realized that there are still rogues out there asking in trade how to get the daggers so they probably don’t know. Now that I think about it, those are probably the same rogues that don’t look shit up on websites, so they probably won’t ever read this, but I typed it out already so I’m not going to delete it.

Know Your Rogue Lore: Asira Dawnslayer – I’m not big on RP stuff, but I do enjoy the lore in the Warcraft universe. Hell, I was right there when Thrall arrived in Durotar! Daraia wrote an interesting bit about Asira, an assassin for the Twilight’s Hammer cult.

Other tidbits:

WowCrendor made this (now deleted) comment on Twitter about how women dress: “Tip to girls: If you dress like a whore you’ll get treated like one. #commonsense” which, of course, caused a bit of a ruckus prompting a few posts on different sites. Apple Cider Mage (which is where I linked the Twitter image from), The Stories of O, and The Ramblings of an (Crappy) Artist all have some posts on the subject, all with a different viewpoint. At the risk of putting a big fucking bullseye on my head, I’ll just say this: Society as a whole will perceive someone based on their outward appearance, and while it is NOT okay to perform any physical action on anyone without their permission, individuals may interact with someone dressed in a particular fashion the same way they might interact with certain other individuals who dress in a like manner that expect said treatment and accept payment for such services rendered. In summary, it isn’t okay to do things to other people but members of society will likely judge you based on how you present yourself.

Somnar at BigBluePuddles decided to close up the blog shop. Hopefully he’ll return soon.

New sites:

There appears to be a new “web summary” type of site that arrived: WoWMeetingStone. It is still in its early (and rough) stage, and seems more like something put together to generate traffic for ad hits and such, but it is worth keeping an eye on to see if they come up with original content soon.
